In this unit, students will be introduced to the micro:bit, a tiny, hand-held computer that has many functions. Students will program the micro:bit using Scratch and will practice simple coding challenges that will give them the chance to explore the device. Once students have a basic understanding of the micro:bit’s capabilities, they will delve into a mini-lesson on Wearable Technologies and create a programmed armband that they can use to display information. Later, students will use the micro:bit as a tool for data collection and will be able to build a Voting Machine to gather information from their classmates.
